Ruger has already had a great year thanks to its extremely popular compact LCP pistol, and now the company is poised to release another crowd-pleasing addition to its product lineup. This week, the company unveiled its new pistol caliber PC Carbine chambered for 9mm rounds. This traditional carbine looks like a beefed-up 10/22, offering reliable performance for a variety of applications.
“Our customers have long been requesting the return of a Ruger pistol caliber carbine, and we are excited to bring this versatile design to market,” said Ruger President and CEO Chris Killoy in the company’s announcement.
Thanks to the PC Carbine’s interchangeable magazine well system, Ruger’s newest rifle can accept a variety of popular magazine options including Glock 9mm magazines and Ruger SR9 magazines. Out of the box, it’s configured for magazines from Ruger’s new Security-9 pistols. 10/22 trigger components are also compatible with the PC Carbine, so you might be able to make some quick, easy upgrades if you already own one of Ruger’s .22 caliber rifles.
Whether you’re looking for a home defense weapon or just a fun gun for target shooting, the PC Carbine looks like it will be a great option to consider. Early reviews have been very positive, and the rifle’s compatibility with popular pistol magazines and rifle components could make it a particularly attractive firearm for fans of Ruger’s other products.
